1999-2005 : Chief Engineer, Cosworth Technology Ltd.

Functional and Departmental responsibility for the Design and 3D Analysis Department (previously including CAE systems) at Cosworth Technology Ltd. (CTL). This included all aspects of the Design and Analysis Processes including hardware and software specification. Main responsibilities were the technical quality of all work performed, technical and process direction for Design and Analysis at CTL. Represented CTL by presenting Postgraduate and industry lectures and provided a key interface to Customers in the role of Business Development including preparation and sign-off of quotations.
Key achievements included:
Technical support for all Design projects including those reaching Production, Introduction of more rigorous design processes ensuring consistent quality of product by unique use of the FMEA. Introduction of a systems based approach to design and Department restructuring to achieve effective feedback and learning within the department. Introduction of new tools and techniques allowing improved visualisation of Design data and quality checking. Implementation of measurable training processes allowing immediate feedback.
Introduction of industry standard software for Design Analysis and best in class processes and techniques.
Responsible for the project management of selected engine programs considered to have advanced technical content.

1997-1999 : Senior Principal Engineer, Cosworth Technology Ltd.

Responsible for Project management of a diverse range of products from Aero and Automotive to Industrial and leisure. Provided an internal consultancy role with respect to Base Engine Design. Involvement in Research projects at CTL

1987 - 1997 : Principal Engineer, Jaguar Cars Ltd.

Responsible for all Current and Previous Production Base Engines including XK, V12 and V8. Management of Design Team to delivery new, derivative and upgrade engines to market. Responsible for Concept definition of the AjV8 engine with respect to Base engine and Lubrication systems. Delivery of Products through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)processes and extensive involvement with the Production facilities and Project Management Gateway processes (FPDS). Previously within Department of two conducting 'traditional' design calculations.

1985 - 1987 : Design Engineer, Austin Rover

Involvement in a number of Projects including K-series, T-Series and "Prima" Diesel projects typically involving both Design and Analysis of rotating, reciprocating and static components and systems.
